Hi, my name is Scott. I'm sure you've figured that much out by now. I've been experimenting with song writing since I was 12 years old. Over the years I have grown quite fond of it. My goal is to always write a song that pleases my ears the most out of any song I've ever heard in my life. So far, I haven't written that song yet. But, I keep trying. Until I'm the best musician ever, I still have more work to do. In other words, I'm never going to stop writing music. I just can't. Before I started writing my own songs I took piano lessons for about 5 years. That helped give me a good foundation of music and music structure. I always knew I had good rhythm. From there I took it upon myself to become creative and start making my own recordings. I had no idea it would ever flourish into something as cool and fun as it has today!
I'm guessing the reason I love to play music so much is because my father and grandfather were both musicians. One loved rock and the other loved jazz. My mom's dad played bass guitar in a jazz band. I have a feeling this is why I'm so attracted to the sound of jazz. My dad only had a passion to play. My other ancestors were all creative as well in one way or another. I think the combination of all of them in me has provided me this ability to create these unique musical projects. I owe them more than I can even express in words for the joy their creativity brings me.
Music isn't my only passion and hobby. I also love art, photography, and computers. I remember spending many hours and many late nights drawing in my art pads. I filled up many. Then, when we got our first family computer I was immediately addicted to it's power to fuel my imagination even further than I had ever dreamed possible. Because of this I became quite proficient with them. I learned to tear them apart, rebuild them, build them from random parts, fix them, and generally use them to make them do whatever I wanted them to anytime I wanted it. Because of this, I built myself my own music recording studio (granted at times this meant splicing wires and using duct tape to make things work). I have built quite a reputation for being a computer nerd around my home area. My great grandfather was a photographer. His name was Dallas. My middle name is Dallas, taken from him. So, that's how I come to be me, Scott Dallas.
At one time I thought I should be taking all the credit for my creativty. I now realize that if it weren't for my amazing ancestors, I wouldn't be able to do half of what I can today. So, I owe it all to them. I used to write music and go by 'DJ Spoof' and for all those who remember that, I thank you. The reason I've decided to drop that name is because I am not DJ Spoof. I am Scott Dallas. That is my name and that name represents me and a portion of my history on this planet.
The last thing I'd like to mention is that I also enjoy creating and running websites. That being said, here are a few other places you can find me on the world wide web:
I've run into trouble with the company producing my CD's... something about my mp3's aren't good enough. There will be a delay getting the albums up. Sorry! No results
